Personal Charity Projects- Project “CANSUP100 “

This is a personal project I have been planning and thinking about for a while.

The project involves stand up paddling over 100KM from the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town to Langebaan on the West Coast.

This is a project to do something unique and physically challenging, while raising awareness and as much money as possible for the following foundations

  • Reach for a Dream Foundation-helping kids diagnosed with life threatening illnesses
  • The Lance Armstrong Foundation-Cancer support and cure foundation
  • Doctors without Borders- Doctors helping people in need  all over the world in hard to reach places

This is a two day expedition will take place over a weekend between September & December, Summer of 2010.

This will be a downwind paddle expedition, which has never been done before. It is an amazing distance to cover on a paddleboard in a two day period and a world first.

This is a personal challenge to push the limits of endurance and paddleboarding as a sport while more importantly raising money and awareness for Lance Armstrong's Cancer foundation, Reach For a Dream Foundation and Doctors without Borders, which I feel, are all great non-profit organisations which need our help.
